A: A Step Ahead Pediatric Therapy is a small, family owned therapy clinic located in Columbus, Indiana. A Step Ahead Pediatric Therapy provides the highest quality pediatric speech, occupational, and physical therapy to our local community. A Step Ahead provides services in clinic, as well as in home through First Steps.
A: A Step Ahead Pediatric Therapy provides pediatric physical, occupational, and speech therapy in the clinic to ages 0-21 years. Through First Steps. we provide speech, occupational, physical, and developmental therapy to ages 0-3 years.
A: All insurance plans vary, but A Step Ahead is in-network with all major insurers, as well as government pay sources. Check with your insurance provider for your plan details
A: We are accepting new patients for occupational and physical therapy. Give us a call at (812)314-2378 and one of our Office Coordinators will walk you through every step of the process.
A: If therapy is recommended, 1-2x per week per therapy is typical. We make is convenient for you by scheduling your child for the same day and time each week.
A: Yes! Most medical evaluations are good for a year. We can accept evaluations from other facilities. A Step Ahead would need a copy of the evaluation prior to scheduling on-going therapy sessions.
A: Unfortunately, we cannot accept school evaluations. School evaluations are not medical and cannot be used to bill insurance. However, the information may be useful for the therapist during treatment and assist with coordination of care
A: Deductible: The amount of money that the family is responsible for paying out of pocket before your insurance coverage kicks in to cover eligible expenses.
Copay: A set amount to be paid by the family per date of service
Coinsurance: A predetermined percentage to be paid by the family for services per date of service
A: If we are processing insurance claims, the insurance company may request a referral from your child's physician. To guarantee a smooth insurance claims process and ensure claims are paid without any issues, we kindly request that all families obtain a referral.
A: First Steps provides early intervention services to infants and toddlers with developmental delays or disabilities, as well as support for their families. The program is part of the larger Early Intervention and Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) system, which is a federal program aimed at supporting children with developmental delays or disabilities from birth to age three.
